LYT Show Participation Contract
Please read over the LifeLight Youth Theatre Show Participation Contract below and have Student and Parent digitally sign by filling in Name on the Audition form.
• To have fun and make the most of this opportunity.
• I will attend all rehearsals, unless otherwise directed.
• I will remain at rehearsals until the rehearsal is completed and I am excused.
• I realize that arriving more than thirty minutes late to or leaving more than thirty minutes early from a rehearsal constitutes an absence.
• If I must miss a rehearsal because of a legitimate reason, I will contact LifeLight Youth Theatre before that scheduled rehearsal at lifelighttheatre@gmail.com .
• It is my responsibility to contact my lead or my understudy if I am absent from a rehearsal to make sure they will be at the rehearsal and will learn, and then teach me, what I missed.
• I understand I am allowed to miss only two (2) unexcused rehearsals (not on conflict schedule and not due to illness) and zero (0) during Tech Week. I will attend all required rehearsals and arrive in a timely fashion. Consistently missing or being late/ leaving early for rehearsals hurts the production and your fellow cast members are counting on you to be present.
• If I miss more than two regular rehearsals or any during Tech Week, I understand that this may be sufficient cause to replace me
• I understand that all families are expected to participate in Load-In and Strike.
• I understand that only water and non-messy snacks are allowed during rehearsal.
• All food/drink trash must be thrown out in appropriate bins by the end of rehearsal.
• If food messes are found after rehearsals, then snacks will not be allowed during rehearsals.
• I will help clean up the rehearsal hall and dressing rooms after rehearsal and performances.
• I will respect and follow the instructions given by the production staff, rehearsal hall monitors, and parent volunteers and not improvise roles if it goes against LYT standards or against director’s wishes.
• I will maintain a positive and cooperative attitude, and support and encourage my fellow performers.
• I will use social media respectfully and responsibly. I will not snap, post, tweet, gram anything negative about myself, others or the show. If I do, I understand Administration will be contacted.
• I understand it is my responsibility to leave rehearsals with all of my personal belongings, paperwork from folders and important messages for parents.
• I understand that LYT may provides some supplemental costume items and that I may have to pay a small rental fee, which is due 2nd semester. I will provide the costume items required and I will have them for Costume Parade, or earlier rehearsals when requested, and treat all costumes with care.
• I will do my best to memorize all lines and songs by the deadlines given by the director. I will know my lines and/or music and blocking by the deadlines. If I do not, I will receive one warning that I have 24 hours to learn my material. If I do not meet this requirement or I continue upon new deadlines to not be prepared, then my part may be recast.
• I agree to be cast in whatever role(s) the director sees fit.
• I understand that the microphones should be treated with the utmost care.
• I will bring my script book, and a pencil each week. I understand that if I lose any of the show materials, I will have to pay the replacement cost.
• I will practice a minimum of 1 hour a day for my role and continue to rehearse at home even if I feel that I know my lines and choreography perfectly.
• I will take direction as given by the designated production team members only - and I will not give direction to others.
• I agree to pay all fees and costs by the posted deadlines. I understand that LifeLight has a no-refund policy and if I am removed from the production or quit for any reason, I forfeit any fees or costs I have paid.
• The family agrees to assist with the production by volunteering with production needs, such as working backstage, working on the set, costumes, assisting with publicity/ marketing, etc.
• I will do my best to sell a minimum of 20 tickets to the performance. (grandparents, friends, neighbors), and to sell ads to help pay for the program printing.
• I recognize God as the author of excellence in theatrical art; give God the glory, glory.
